Ecotoxicology: I study the impact of pollutants (microplastics, nanoparticles, pesticides, ...) and perturbations (acidification, salinity), on macroinvertebrate, at different biological organization level not only to better assess water quality but also to better understand the causes and consequences of contaminations on ecosystems.
- (sub-)individual level: effects on ecophysiology, behavior and life history traits of macroinvertebrates. I try to link these responses to better understand potential effects on populations.
- population level: effect on abundance, sex-ratio, size
- community level: effect on community composition and structure
- ecosystem level: effect on ecosystem functioning (matter and energy fluxes, secondary production, ...)
Note: Recent experiments were/are performed to study/assess the importance of environmental constraints on the response of organisms to contaminants.
Ecology:
- Biology and ecology of Gammarus sp.
- Interspecific competition of macroinvertebrate facing stress
- Ecosystem functioning
